The consignment of upgrading works on the old section of EN125 in Almancil was signed on Friday, 8th May 2009, in the Garden of the Communities, Almancil. The Mayor of Loulé, Seruca Emídio, took the opportunity to announce that ModCom will be implemented in the county, in partnership with Acral, with the aim of “increasing to revive trade in Almancil”.The occasion also served to display the works, which will cost around 2.4 million Euros.
The aim of these work across Almancil, which will last for 7 months, is to offer pedestrian walkways and allow a more orderly movement of traffic, as well as organising car parking in commercial areas. It will also improve the existing infrastructures, such as, sewer systems, lighting, telecommunications networks and data, adapting them to the demands of the new digital era.
The Mayor of Loulé Seruca Emídio described these works on the old section of EN125 as “works which have a key role in strategy and policy that the Council adopted on upgrading the main urban areas of the County.”
